With the WWDC nearly wrapped up for the year, interesting news is still pouring out of the Cupertino based company. While the net is obsessed with the details of large sized iPhones with 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch display with a plastic cover, new information regarding the looks of the iPhone 5S has surfaced.
According to the Japanese publication MacoTakara, a gold smartphone may indeed be on the cards for Apple, which is expected to announce the launch of a revamped low-cost iPhone. In addition to the standard black and white colors, the iPhone 5S is rumored to arrive in a new gold color variant as well.
The site noted that the 5S will be released in August packing internal upgrades including a better processor and camera improvements, but not with prominent changes to the design.
While it may be surprising to hear that Apple will be releasing a gold iPhone, a few weeks back, a gold SIM tray surfaced online along with other alleged parts of the iPhone 5S.
Specwise, the iPhone 5S is rumored to flaunt a 4.8-inch display, A7X quad-core processor, iOS 7, 2GB RAM and 16/32/64/128GB internal storage. Other rumored goodies on board include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G, 3G, NFC and an enhanced battery life.
Also, the source is suggesting that the cheaper iPhone will come in other color options including Black, Pink, Orange, White and Blue.
As always, it is important to take this rumor with a pinch of salt. Though Macotakara‘s track record is pretty good these kind of leaks can be pretty doubtful.
But a shiny gold iPhone 5S could certainly move some units for Apple. So far, Apple has kept with the traditional monochromatic color scheme – but may things are going to be a little different from now on.
